Notion-

  1. The architect, Ibrahim Jafarov constructed this house not for his living but in the memory of his brother who died in World War II. 
  2. He was very determined to construct it because he felt that his brother would return. So he has also affixed a picture of his brother inside the house. 
  3. There are inscriptions in honor of the Olympic Games held in the USSR.

Architecture-
  • The house is a two-story building rendered from mottled bottles broth
  • ht from Sochi, Russia with shimmering colors.
  • It is made from Black sea stones and 48,000 bottles which reflect and refract light like a prism. 
  • The thousands of bottles that camouflage its walls are gently placed to create works of art and mosaic at every inch of the building.
  • The bottoms of bottles are beautifully used to write the word 'Ganja' on different parts of the building by the architect.
  • The names of soldiers of world war II are written on walls who didn't get recognition.

This house is a private dwelling, at present, so you can't enter it, but you can take a picture of yourself against this remarkable backdrop.

Notion-
  1. A seven-year boy, Christian Ringnes, got a miniature bottle from his father which lead him to collect bottles.
  2. He inaugurated this museum, in May 2003 after 42 years of bottle collecting. The stunning number of bottles is 53000.

  1. The bottle village was established by a grandmother at the age of 60. She had a hobby of collecting pencils.
  2. At the age of 60, she wanted to make a house for her 17,000 pencils to stay. But, she was unable to find bricks to build the house, as the prices were out of her budget.
  3. As a result, she visited a local dump where she discovered thousands of colored bottles. She made cement with her own hands and constructed her first bottle house.

  • Grandma Prisbrey's bottle village has been officially chosen as an antique landmark of Simi Valley.
  • There are about 16 buildings and structures like the Leaning Tower of bottle village, the dolls head shrine, the roundhouse, and much more.
  • When grandma was alive she would take the tourists on a tour of the village and end up visiting the meditation room where she emphasized tourists meditate. 
  • She charged only 75 cents as fees but visitors would give her oftentimes more.

  1. Robert Bezeau, a Canadian,  born in Montreal, got fed up and went to this beautiful island - "Bocas del Toro- PANAMA".
  2. Robert says that once he woke up from a dream when he was in a Village where everything was built with bottles. He said," that's what I gotta do. I am gonna build houses using bottles. We need to try to do something to make a better world. It's believed that there will be more plastic in the oceans than the fish."
  3. In 1991, an earthquake disrupted people's living. As a result, Robert volunteered to help people re-accommodate People loved the place and choose to stay there. But when tourists come they consume, buy things, so the trash started to grow faster than the capacity of the city to be able to clean. During one and a half years of picking up trash bottles, he accumulated one million plastic bottles.

1. Plastic bottle castle

  • This helps in providing a living to the less fortunate.

Temple of a Million Bottles

Location- Sisaket, Thailand

Architecture-
  • Million bottle temple is composed of 1.5 million beer bottles, which sounds horrible.
  • One can't stop looking at the mural of Buddha,  contemplating under the Boddhi tree solely made from bottle caps. 
  • In this way, there is no scope of pollution as no portion of the bottle is tossed out. It was deemed as one of the ten leading endurable architectures in 2015.

Notion-
  1. The Buddhist monks used to collect bottles to decorate their shelters. This building material seemed shiny which encouraged people to donate more bottles and finally, the monks collected as many bottles as needed to make this pagoda.
  2. In a hope to live a peacefully, greenery-filled life, Buddhists came up with this idea and gathered the glass bottles 
  3. This helped in decoratively disposing of the waste.
  4. This also helped in reducing the carbon dioxide and restraining them from filling into the land. 
  5. They believed this to be one of the best ways to attain Moksha or Nirvana.
